Ofqual Checkpoint Information for 2025/26
As part of Ofqual’s VTQ Action Plan, all awarding organisations are required to implement an annual checkpoint. The purpose of the checkpoint is to identify learners who are expecting results in the summer and ensure these results are delivered on time.
All centres with learners expecting to certificate in August 2026 will be required to complete the checkpoint this year.
For full details on how RSL Awards will be implementing the checkpoint for the 2025/26 academic year, please refer to the document below:
RSL Checkpoint Implementation 25/26
Please note that the checkpoint window opens in March 2026. Centres do not need to take any action until the window becomes active, but we encourage early familiarisation with the information provided.
Update 4th September 2025
Changes to the Externally Assessed Units
As part of our commitment to review and improve our qualifications, we have made some changes to the externally assessed (EA) units within our Creative and Performing Arts and Music Practitioner qualifications. We’ve made these changes based on centre feedback. The changes will make the EA units easier to deliver and will reduce the workload for centre staff.
These changes are effective for the current academic year, 2025–2026.
