Three specially arranged PAA Musical Theatre shows. Out now!

RSL Awards are delighted to have partnered up with The School Musicals Company to create three specially-arranged shows for use towards PAA Musical Theatre Exams.

The three shows, available to buy now, are:

Each show contains musical numbers, scripts and recommended grade levels per character. With roles accommodating up to 25 performers, ranging from Premiere to Grade 5 typically lasting around 20 - 30 minutes, these shows are perfect for any group performance.

The excerpts feature at least three scenes and three songs, giving every performer the opportunity to play a meaningful role as well as being part of the wider ensemble, no matter what grade their character is benchmarked at.

To help teachers create the perfect exam show for their ensemble, we’ve included editable versions of the scripts. Teachers can edit the script, cut roles and share those lines between other characters (thereby creating larger roles) without seeking permission prior to an exam day. As long as key character traits and the integrity of scenes aren’t compromised, we believe this added flexibility will make group performances accessible for drama groups in any setting.

Paws and Claws

Paws and Claws is based very loosely on William Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’, but with dogs and cats instead of Montagues and Capulets, always fighting, usually without good reason, just because that’s the way things have always been. Beyond that, however, the story is wholly original, a tale of friendship, of loyalty, of trust and mistrust, of joy and sadness, isolation and togetherness.

The daring exploits of Peter Pan and Tinker Bell, along with Captain Hook, Tiger Lily, Tootles and the Lost Boys, have had generations of children – not to mention adults – spellbound. Pantastic introduces us to Peter, Tink and the Darling children, and whisks us away to Neverland and the competing forces of the Lost Boys, the Pirates and the Natives.

The Jungle Book

Mowgli, Baloo, Bagheera, Akela, Kaa and the myriad of other animals in Rudyard Kipling’s ‘The Jungle Book’ swings us on a dramatic, funny, quirky and hugely enjoyable adventure. This enjoyable piece of theatre is hugely evocative, full of the most wonderful imagery, descriptions, insights, storylines and characters.
