Demonstrating modestly, at a very young age, Vicci sang with a mature rich and deeply soulful voice. Soul music intrigued her and she was often overheard, vocally impersonating 'Touched By An Angel' American jazz and gospel star, the late Della Reese after every episode she watched with her mother when she was a child. She sang with emotion and had a real connection with the words and rhythm naturally, before having any formal training at all. Vicci hasn’t originated from a family of musicians but she was born into a very loving and honest family that supported her hunger and passion for singing. Her parents worked hard to arrange singing lessons, alongside dance (N.A.T.D.) and drama (LAMDA), which involved weekly practice for over fifteen years, including examination from the young age of just three. As a result of her discipline, devotion and loyalty to the love of arts, today, Vicci has become a kind and committed individual who wishes to share her passion and love for singing with those who wish to be taught by her. Vicci’s uniquely designed voice took inspiration from the greatest soul singers; Aretha Franklin, Adele, Amy Winehouse, Christina Aguilera, Emeli Sande. She explored genres further at University when asked to sing for an indie rock pop band. Introduced to Paramore alternative rock, pop punk style, she quickly discovered the length her vocal chords could be stretched to and what a versatile voice she had. She began to really experiment with her choices; Soul, Jazz, Pop, Blues, Funk and so on. Her extensive knowledge of genres encouraged her to study musicology delving into the discoveries these genres originated from with a clear focus, mainly on soul but spotting influenced vocal techniques within modern pop artists such as Ariana Grande, Avril Lavigne, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Evanescence, Lady Gaga, Little Mix, Maroon 5, Pink and Sia Vicci believes that to teach voice, you must understand the history of the genre to be able to connect with it emotionally, allowing you to become a better singer. Being technically skilled in her instrument through extensive training and research allows her to teach knowledgeably, safely and uniquely interestingly, providing substance in every single lesson.
Vicci was the first singing teacher I ever had, I remember how nervous I was as it was my first time trying an out of school activity and it all felt very strange. As soon as I met Vicci I was so glad I had decided to seek out lessons, her friendly nature and bubbly personality made me feel at ease and able to be myself! Vicci found it easy to make conversation, lessons were always professional and informative but there was always time for a chat about our lifestyles or different topics we were interested in. This meant I had more of a personal connection with her and felt comfortable trying new vocal techniques that I would usually feel embarrassed about, as she taught in a more relaxed manner whilst also getting work done. One thing I liked about my lessons were they were at my own pace and I was asked what style or technique I would like to learn each time, I felt like I had the freedom to make my own decisions to better my understanding, but also the guidance of Vicci to give me helpful opinions on choices I would make. I felt lucky to have her as a teacher. She was able to teach in a professional yet friendly manner and always made me 100% happy with my singing.
