Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Bass, Music Theory.
I began teaching my first students back in 2007 and have since worked with people of all ages and abilities in a variety of settings. My own journey in music over the past 25 years has seen me playing in bands and writing and recording music, running a DIY record label and promoting gigs. Music is my greatest love and I bring enthusiasm and encouragement into my teaching, hoping to help my students connect with their own passion for music, either as a hobby or preparing for grading exams. I hold a BMUs Hons degree in Music Performance, am a member of the Musician's Union and have undertaken a good deal of safeguarding training over the years. My specialisations are Electric Guitar and Bass, but I also have a good knowledge of acoustic guitar (plectrum) drums, music production and music theory.

Tom Sandford - Acoustic Guitar, Intermediate: "Sam's talent and expertise is matched only by his attentiveness. He has a very personal approach, not only teaching me the basics but also tailoring lessons to my favourite genres. He is patient and has been encouraging throughout every lessons. I could not recommend enough."
Ross Jenkins - Advanced Electric Guitar and applied Music Theory: "I had the pleasure of being taught by Sam in the art of Music Theory. His lessons were very relaxed and Sam was incredibly patient when dealing with my substantial lack of understanding. After a few sessions, my knowledge increased and I have Sam to thank for it. I can wholly recommend his as a tutor and would gladly go to him again for any theoretical or guitar-based tuition!
Jake Harding - Electric Guitar, Beginner: "Only good things to say. Sam has been super easy to learn with. The lessons are structured really well and have been great at giving me a bit more confidence in learning a new instrument. A nice balance between theory and practical aspects which move along at a nice pace without feeling overwhelming. highly recommend if you are looking to brush up on your skills or learn from scratch as I have been doing."
Chris Sparrow - Bass, Advanced: "Learning with Sam has been a breeze, offering instinctive lessons that are shaped to the individual player as opposed to broadly teaching the basics. His grasp of theory and technique is outstanding and he made me feel at ease very quickly. Great set up for all players of all skill levels and backgrounds and very patient."
