Matilda Louwrens

My Passion for music only increased as I grew older, and the only real exposure I got was singing in church whether solo or as a back vocal. It wasn’t until I joined the Umdali Creative Arts School where I learned various techniques and where my vocal range started increasing under the guidance and teachings of Francois Combrinck. I have been part of DIFC’s Music department both as a Lead singer, back vocal on a Sunday as well as being part of the choir that have been ministering on special events as well as throughout various conferences held over the past 19+ years. Theatre Productions: “Father to the Fatherless”@ The State Theatre in Pretoria and both “La Mia Passione” & “Kingdom of a Thousand Dreams” @ The Lyric Theatre. Furthermore I was also part of two Dunamis CD releases as backing vocals on various songs. I’ve been part of Umdali Institute since 2013 where I started as a first year music teacher, teaching vocal classes since then I’ve only grown and now am able to teach others what I have learned through the years, and see them becoming the true singers they really are! Enrolled various students into graded examinations (All Levels). I’m also the Umdali Administrator since 2015 and have the privilege to work with all of the students putting together Student show cases; year-end functions as well as Graduation Programs.
