Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar.
Jack holds distinctions in Rockschool Guitar and London College of Music Popular Vocals qualifications. He also holds NOCN qualifications in Music Technology including Sequencing, Sound and Audio Production, Song Writing and Multitrack Recording. He currently works as a musician and teacher in Sheffield, and can tutor students in acoustic and electric guitar from complete Beginner to Advanced level in a variety of contemporary styles including Rock, Pop, Blues, Funk, Metal, Jazz and Fingerstyle. Jack can help students explore and develop their musical style on the guitar with his strong core understanding of guitar playing fundamentals, as well as his knowledge of broader areas such as songwriting, aural/notation training, and equipment guidance. He has taken many students through Grades Debut/1 to 8 and has and unbroken record of Merits and Distinctions on his student records. He was previously band-leader and main guitarist for local charity Inyerface Arts, who provide opportunities for young people and adults in schools and communities to perform live on stage and develop their musical skills and confidence. Jack has a great knowledge of the local music scene having worked with several Sheffield bands, promoters and venues for almost 10 years. He continues to gig with local bands and continually integrates this knowledge into aspects of his teaching. Jack often takes on many different roles, from producer to sound engineer, guitarist to vocalist; these range of skills make him ideally placed to work with and mentor young people through many areas of their artistic development. This also includes mentoring bands and musical groups on topics such as stage presentation and rehearsal skills. He has the facility to record sessions for vocal groups or bands, and can also organise on-location recording.

I wholeheartedly recommend Jack to anyone at any level in their guitar playing. --Simon, Student
I always enjoy my guitar lessons with Jack. He’s very positive about what can be achieved and has tons of patience. I am learning the guitar as a visually impaired person and Jack goes out of his way to help overcome any problems. -- Norman, Student
Our 11 year old son Zach has been having guitar lessons (both acoustic and, more recently, electric) with Jack for a few years now. As well as being an extremely talented guitarist himself, Jack is also a gifted teacher with the ability to inspire his students and increase their self-esteem and confidence in their own ability. He works with his students to identify pieces of music that they will feel motivated to learn and Zach thoroughly enjoys his lesson each week.
Jack is also a completely trustworthy and reliable person. We have also been fortunate to have been able to book Jack and his partner Grace to perform at a couple of events we have run through our business. Their performances have been instrumental in creating the right atmosphere for the events and we have received much positive feedback from attendees who greatly enjoyed their music. -- Mary, Parent
I unreservedly recommend Jack and in fact I have recommended him to a number of friends whose children now also have lessons with him and who are equally happy! - Jenny, Parent
Jack is incredibly knowledgeable and patient. Not only is he teaching me the music theory I never learned during my years of playing, he is doing this in context to the music I enjoy. I’m so grateful for the preparation time Jack clearly puts in prior to my lessons. I feel far more confident now! -- Bruce, Student
