The School of Rhythm was established in South East London in 2001 in Forest Hill, SE23 when I first started to teach outside my touring schedule. I owned and ran what became the largest Private music school in Europe 1982 to 1992. But The School of Rhythm in London is very different. We had 600 students weekly on our courses in Paris and on all instruments. Here we teach exclusively drums. It is aimed to be a 'boutique' drum school with tailored personal attention to each of our students. We now have more or less 100 students and the teaching team is made of 5 pro drummers. A young, yet experienced team teaching 10am till 10pm, 7 days/week throughout the year including half terms and ALL bank holidays. All our teachers have BMUs some with 1st class honors, and they all are experienced performers. Moreover each of them performs live on a regular basis. They are not just teachers. This maintains a high enthusiastic spirit in the school. I am one of the first students at the Kenny Clarke Dante Agostini drum school in Paris. I played with number of French household names and was drummer in the house-band of world famous Crazy Horse Saloon for 7 years. I too personally teach in the School of Rhythm some days of the week. With close to half a century as an international drummer and having taught more than a thousand students. I pretty much can help students at any level. We prepare for grades 1-8.

The best thing I've done since moving to the UK. The lessons are fantastic in a nice atmosphere.
The teachers are super high standard but patient to break things down . I've drummed 20 years and recorded two full released albums and this is the first time I see the drums as a lifelong journey and I'm loving learning :) . If you like drums get lessons here! (Daragh o Loughlin)
Run by inimitable Dom and ably assisted by the beautiful and talented Val, The School of Rhythm in Penge is such a treasure. My son absolutely loves attending lessons and practices without prompting. No mean feat for a 7 year old! (Nu Versace)
Dom and the team at the School of Rhythm are fantastic! Incredibly patient, warm and caring. Dom has taught my 10 year old son for a year now - we come back every week. He took on a boy who had no musical experience and has taught him to read music incredibly quickly and to master the basics of drumming technique. But most of all - Dom’s genuine love of seeing young drummers improve is inspiring. We owe school of rhythm a lot! (Chris Downs)
Dom is a great drum teacher, super friendly and full of love for his craft. The school of rhythm has a group of great teachers who’s passion for the drums is infectious and can get the funk out everyone. If you want to learn the drums these are the guys!!! (Paul Rogers)
