Let me first start this off by saying words do little to describe what a phenomenal human being Jean-Paul DuBock is. As a teacher and as a person i would say i have never met anyone else with so much compassion and patience. I first met Mr.Dubock in sixth form during a very troubled time in my life, he helped me understand the value of education, if not for the qualifications you get from it, Then the experiences and life lessons that come with such an integral time in a young mans life. To sum Mr.DuBock up as a teacher i would say that there is very few teachers who care as much as he does about his students. Without Jean-Paul DuBock i would not be the man i am today.
JP was my music teacher through year 11, and forMusic Technology in Sixth Form. Having just joined the school, Mr Dubock picked up the pieces and taught our year 11 class the majority of the GCSE Music syllabus for me to pass with a High A grade - in the space of one year, after a previous year of learning next to nothing. Alongside education, JP has been excellent with presenting opportunities outside of curriculum to further fuel my experience in the music industry. From volunteering at a charity music festival, to working and recording with a full sized orchestra. Jean-Paul is an incredible individual/teacher/mentor/professional, with whom I cannot recommend enough. His enthusiasm for music and its surrounding areas is infectious and his knowledge is truly vast.
I have known Jean-Paul for 9 years through his work in Music. As a regular performer, music has always been a big part of my life. Jean-Paul's teaching and encouragement has helped me to grow enormously as a musician, both technically and stylistically. Aside from being an excellent teacher, JP is fun and entertaining, which makes learning from him a joy. I recommend him without reservation, and remain grateful for his contributions in my life.
JP was my Music Technology teacher at Portchester school almost a decade ago. Not only did he teach my my roots in audio engineering and signal flow but also a lot about grunge music and playing Guitar. I spent a lot of time in the music department and achieved triple distinction*. Throughout the years we have stayed in touch and he's always been a great advisor moving forward in my career both professionally and as a student. Fantastic guy!
