Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Bass, Drums, Ukulele, Music Theory.
I have been teaching guitar for 4.5 years. Before I became a tutor I have mostly studied Rock guitar and theories revolving around the instrument that are fundamentally needed for students without overloading them with knowledge that is best learnt in a classroom for music theory. I have been involved in various music projects and currently working with a band called Betty and the Chevrons. You can find more information about my music endeavours on my band page www.facebook.com/bettyandthechevrons I have now added Drums, Bass and Ukulele to my repertoire. Previously I have only taught these instruments in schools, but I have now decided to start to properly teach them in private lessons. So if you are looking at being taught any of these instruments then please get in touch. I have taught and have experience in many different teaching scenarios, such as rock school projects, one to one, groups, SEN, schools and I have taught music for a charity that was strictly for people suffering with mental health issues. I am currently studying to continue to advance and perfect in guitar and music so that I can perfect my craft as a tutor. I believe every tutor/instrumentalist should be doing this because as a musician you never stop learning. I have an enhanced DBS, I am safeguard trained and fully insured. I have a very strong passion for music, I believe it teaches children and adults different skills other than just learning to play an instrument, to learn notes in a key or on a staff. It also teaches self confidence, self belief, being able to work in a team. It also teaches you how to work within different surroundings, with different people and being able to socialise with confidence. I believe to excel in music and a chosen instrument you need to build a strong foundation in the basics. once you have all the foundations in place then learning more advanced techniques become a lot easier to understand, easier to learn and to grasp.
Thanks Marty, kids loved their lesson and cannot wait for next week. Great tutor, very patient with the kids and accommodating. Good approach to the lessons and clearly has a passion for music and teaching.
