I am a multi-instrumentalist from a family of musicians and have always been involved in music since an early age. I have progressed through graded music exams myself as well as having years of experience playing in different situations with bands, orchestras, and other ensembles. I studied music full time in college and then at the University of Liverpool, achieving a BA hons in Music. I have over 10 years teaching experience and teach students of all ages and abilities. As well as teaching and guiding students through graded instrumental exams, I encourage all of my students to play the music that they enjoy and to enjoy what they're playing! Whether it's Rock, Metal, Blues, Jazz, Indie, Samba, Classical etc. I find a way to incorporate fundamental techniques into the lessons in a practical and fun way to ensure students progress whilst having fun and playing songs that they enjoy. I also manage "Learn Music ltd", a private music school and official public exam centre in Liverpool. I manage a team of 14 music tutors and we provide tuition on most instruments as well as singing. I oversee all exam entries and as the official public exam centre we are very familiar with all exam requirements and preparation.

"My son recently achieved a merit for his grade 8 guitar thanks to the tuition given by Dave. He loves his lessons and is always learning new things, often learning other songs from music or by ear alongside working towards the music exams. This has improved my sons music reading and ear training skills which was reflected in his exam results as he achieved good marks in these sections of the exam too."
Eric Jones - Parent
"David is a great teacher! He is very patient, always encouraging and supportive, even during weeks which I haven't managed to practice much or even at all."
Linda Smith - Adult Student
"David has helped my daughter so much in her Piano lessons. She looks forward to her lessons each week and can actually read the music and understand what she's playing now, rather than just copying what she's shown and playing by memory like with her previous teacher."
Vicky Williams - Parent
"I like learning Guitar and playing all the different songs. It's fun when we make up our own solos and David shows me how to use the scales to make a Guitar solo."
Mark Taylor - Student, 7 years
