Biography

Andrew is an experienced professional drummer and educator, specialising in jazz, soul and pop playing. Having studied jazz performance at Leeds College of Music (BA hons - Jazz), under the tutelage of Pete Fairclough, Andrew is now an active performer around the East Midlands and further afield. As a drum teacher, Andrew focuses on the practical skill sets required to achieve the goals of the student, whether this be technique, musicality or concept based. Previous students have gone on to study music at music colleges, university and conservatoires, as well as pursuing cruise ship and theatre employment. Andrew covers all drum related topics, with specialism in improvisation, reading, grade exams and traditional grip. Andrew is a member of the Musician's Union, as a registered performer and teacher, and also carries public liability insurance as well as a current DBS/CRB.
