RSL Awards launches “RSL Academy” with the first four progressive stages of teacher training, and announces class leading Awarding Organisation Committee.

RSL Awards is proud to announce the development of teacher training and CPD to support the thousands of teachers and institutions that form our unique world-wide network. Today, we launch the RSL Academy with the first four progressive stages of teacher training. Staff who have developed the material and run the training are drawn from our extensive network of creative professionals and are an international team of experts, led by our Director of Product and Marketing, Nathan Theodoulou.

Our vision at RSL is to help teachers across the world to deliver truly rewarding learning and teaching in the subjects that they love.

To ensure the integrity of our regulated examinations and assessments, staff and contractors involved with the academy are separate from our Awarding Organisation and have no access to any elements of the awarding cycle. There is an internal memorandum of understanding that outlines how staff involved in the academy can operate. Staff, examiners, and assessors involved in awarding work separately from the Academy and play no part in overseeing content or endorsement. We value the independence of our regulated awarding so much that we want to have complete transparency regarding this important part of what we do.

Our second announcement is our class leading Awarding Organisation Committee. It is our commitment to ensure that the awarding we do is of the highest possible calibre, and to support this we have appointed three external world leaders in regulated assessments to sit on our Awarding Organisation Committee and analyse, advise, and ensure best practice within our regulated activity. Assembled by our Director of Awarding, Dr Fern-Chantèle Carter, these independent professionals will have full access to all of our regulated work and create reports that directly inform our governing body.

This committee will help foster a culture of critical feedback on policy and practice. The Awarding Organisation Committee will meet twice a year.
