RSL Awards was proud to be represented at the UK–China Business Forum in Shanghai, held during the official visit of UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer to China.
Hosted by the China–Britain Business Council in collaboration with British Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, the forum brought together over 200 leaders from British and Chinese businesses alongside UK government representatives, including Secretary of State Peter Kyle.
Our Vice President of RSL Awards China, Lillian Lan, was honoured to attend and engage in conversations focused on the future of UK–China collaboration. The overriding message was clear. The relationship between the UK and China is entering a renewed and opportunity-rich chapter, underpinned by trust, long-term presence, and meaningful contribution.
For RSL Awards, this resonates deeply with our mission. As an international awarding organisation, our work in China goes beyond exporting qualifications. It is about partnership, quality, and collaboration. We support learners, educators, and institutions with globally recognised standards that meet local expectations and ambitions.
As CBBC Chair Sir Sebastian Wood highlighted, recent agreements have laid the foundations for deeper cooperation. The panel also reinforced that sustainable success in China comes from investing in relationships, local strategy, and shared value. These principles sit at the heart of our work.
We are proud to be part of these conversations and excited about the momentum ahead as we continue to support creative arts education and assessment on a truly global stage.
