“Rock the Halls” is here. Send us your videos and join our global Christmas singing celebration!
The festive season is officially underway at RSL Awards, and we are inviting singers everywhere to take part in our brand new Christmas challenge called Rock the Halls. Whether you are a solo vocalist, a teacher with a class full of eager singers or a group ready to carol your way into the season, we want to hear your versions of Deck the Halls.
We want to see your videos! In true Rockschool style, we’ve rocked up the classic carol and want to stitch all your videos together to create an epic RSL carol service to be released in time for the big day.
One lucky winner could also feature as a cover star on the new Rockschool Vocals syllabus coming in 2026! (More on that below…)
The challenge is now open and runs until 18 December. Plenty of time to warm up your voice, gather your people and create something full of holiday spirit.
How it works
Taking part in Rock the Halls is simple and joyful. Here is everything you need to do:
- Complete the Rock the Halls entry form on this page! We’ll ping you the Rock the Halls competition entry pack by email, including the Deck the Halls backing track and lyric sheet. Use this to guide your own performance.
- Record your video of Deck the Halls. There are no limits on group size. Sing solo, pair up or gather a whole group for a festive performance. For the best sound, try to wear headphones so the backing track does not bleed into your recording. (See full recording guidelines in the T&Cs below)
-
Submit your videos using the official upload link. Please name your file using the same full name you used in the entry form. In the portal’s Package Settings, choose a Package Name that also includes your name or group name. This helps us match your video to your entry. Once uploaded, your performance is officially entered.
*Make sure you follow RSL Awards on Instagram or TikTok, so that you can stay updated as we share our favourite entries. This challenge is a global celebration, and we will be showcasing singers from all over the world.

What you could win
One standout singer will earn the incredible opportunity to appear as the cover star of one of our upcoming Vocal syllabus books. Our new syllabus is currently in development, and this competition will give one vocalist the chance to shine on the front cover. This applies to singers everywhere. UK singers. Irish singers. International singers. Geography will not get in your way!
Alongside the main prize, we will also create a special video montage featuring some of the most joyful performances we receive. This final compilation will celebrate the global nature of our community and share the festive energy that our singers bring. Think of it as a worldwide chorus that spreads cheer far beyond the holiday season.
Why take part
Rock the Halls is a chance to sing, to celebrate and to join a musical moment shared across borders. It lets students showcase their progress. It gives teachers a ready-made festive activity. It offers families a memory to keep. Most of all, it brings singers together in a way that reminds us why music matters.
