Jason

Hello, I’m Jason. I provide professional guitar tuition of all styles for people of all ages, abilities, height, colour and shoe size…except for purple giants in their 30’s with small feet. They are a nightmare! I was the resident guitar teacher for the Piano Academy in Skegness for many years and now teach guitar privately and at schools in and around the sunny Skegness area (disclaimer – I am using the word sunny in it’s most creative, playful, abstract sense). I studied music at the Royal Welsh College Of Music And Drama and have over 30 years of teaching and playing experience. I’ve studied and performed jazz, rock, blues and classical guitar. I have studied with classical guitar legends John Mills and Jorge Morel and have had masterclasses with John Williams, David Russell, Stephan Rak and Tommy Emmanuel. As a teacher I have taught at universities, music centres, schools, a Yamaha music school and provided private guitar and music theory tuition. Electric guitar lesson in Skegness As a player I have given classical guitar recitals, worked in orchestras, played electric guitar in many house bands, backing shows and performers such as Bucks Fizz, Dennis Seaton, Jaki Graham, Sonia and Jess Conrad. (If you remember who any of them are then you get a 50 point bonus!)

Jake Paulson (beginner – age 11)

“I’d been learning to play the guitar at school for a year and had only been taught how to play four or five notes. After 18 months of lessons with Jason, I was up to grade 2!”

Jacob Rawlinson (advanced – age 16)

“Thanks to Jason I was accepted as a guitar student into the London Institute of Music. I’d been playing the guitar for a number of years and wanted to go and study at the London Institute of Music. I went for an audition but they didn’t accept me. They said I was an accomplished player but my fretboard knowledge was not up to the high standard they require of their guitar students. I looked around for a guitar teacher in Skegness that was good enough to give me the knowledge I needed, thankfully I found Jason. After just 6 months of lessons with Jason he taught me everything I needed to know, so I auditioned again and they accepted me.”
