Additional Information

I have felt the drums since I was a boy. Always tapping tables and other household implements. However I didn't start to play the drums until I was 23. Since I’ve started playing I’ve had lots of fun, experienced much emotion and even more fulfilment. I do believe that the best way of starting to play drums is to learn the rudiments, time keeping and most importantly musicality. I was the drummer with contemporary folk band Rag Foundation from March 2000 to April 2004, when the band finally split up. In that time we travelled the world playing in Canada, Australia, Egypt, Hungary, Italy, France, Netherlands, Latvia, Malta, Belgium and many other places. The band released three albums that are still available via Amazon.co.uk and other record stores. We reformed in 2008 and played the amazing Festival Interceltique in Lorient, Brittany, which we last played in 2001, in both ’08 and ’09, it was stilll great! I was on a UK tour with the amazing blues guitarist, the late great, Lil Dave Thompson (http://www.lildavethompson.co.uk/) in Sept 2005 which kick started my playing the blues. I currently play in a number of local bands playing, blues, country, folk, alt rock, indie and funk to name but a few styles! I have my own purpose built recording studio where I teach. I teach all styles to all ages. Currently my youngest pupil is 7 and my oldest 68! My pupils have a had a lot of success with Rockschool exams with none of them getting less then a Merit. I love to play music with other people and hopefully pass on to others the fun, enjoyment and passion for drums, percussion and music in general.
