Melanie Spanswick
RSL Awards is delighted that world-renowned pianist Melanie Spanswick’s piano pieces can be used in Rockschool and RSL Classical piano graded exams!
Melanie Spanswick’s work has taken her to all five continents, and her music is increasingly performed and recorded worldwide. Having graduated with a Master’s Degree from the Royal College of Music, Melanie is currently a piano faculty member at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and Eton College, and she is an Honorary Master Piano Teacher at the Tom Lee Academy in Hong Kong and Director of the Teacher Training Programme at the Cristofori Music School in Singapore.
A widely experienced examiner and adjudicator, she frequently gives master classes, workshops and presentations throughout the UK and internationally. Melanie has written and edited piano books to critical acclaim, and her piano compositions have been featured in various publications and many music festival syllabuses. Melanie’s ‘Women Composers – A Graded Anthology’ series won the prestigious Presto Music Award for ‘New Series of The Year’ in 2022.
The ‘Women Composers – A Graded Anthology’ and ‘Play It Again: Piano’ series can be used as pre-approved benchmarked repertoire in Rockschool and RSL Classical Piano graded music exams.

What is Pre-approved Benchmarked Repertoire?
Pre-approved benchmarked repertoire are materials that have been agreed for use at the designated grade level without having to request approval from RSL Awards before a graded exam.
