RSL: European Conference 2018
RSL held the European Conference on the 21st and 22nd November 2018 and was held in Lisbon, Portugal.
The conference takes place every year and is a great opportunity for RSL representatives and music education organisations to come together and review their current strategies for their regions.
Founder Norton York and CEO John Simpson welcomed the attendees and presented a brief history of RSL and its 27 years of innovation in Music Education.
RSL representatives delivered presentations on qualification updates, including an introduction to the new Music Production syllabus and the Guitar, Bass and Drums material which was released in September 2018. Performing Arts Awards Qualifications Manger, Sarah Perryman delivered a presentation giving an over-view of the updated PAA syllabus, introducing the dance styles, musical theatre and the process of the examinations. Director of Academic, Tim Bennett-Hart demonstrated an in-depth introduction to the curriculum, guidance and learning outcomes for students and Head of Business Development Patrick Healy delved into RSL's Vocational Qualifications demonstrating the necessary skills for meeting the demand of today's creative industries, using RSL International vocational case studies.
We were delighted to be joined by our publishing partner - the largest music print publishers in the world - Hal Leonard. The HL team walked attendees through their current position as publishers - both in the UK and internationally.
We hope everyone enjoyed their time at the conference and look forward to catching up with you all next year!
