Teaching Diploma Level 4

A Level 4 Teaching Diploma is for intermediate teachers with 12 months or more regular teaching experience who want to improve their confidence and teaching skills. The course focuses on one-to-one teaching with students of all ages up to and including Level 2, and introduces group teaching at Level 1.

Unit 1: Planning & Delivery

Candidates must pass all the Learning Outcomes to pass Unit 1:

  • 1.1 - Group Lesson Delivery
  • 1.2 - Individual Lesson Delivery
  • 1.3 - Music Analysis and Performance (MAP)
  • 1.4 - Overviews and Lesson Plans
  • 1.5 - Home Study Plans

Please note: once Unit 1 has been submitted candidates have a maximum of 2 years to complete the qualification.

Unit 2: Assessing & Observing

Unit 2 is made up of two exams; one written, one oral. Teaching practices are discussed and learner performances are assessed, all from video clips. Candidates are required to display understanding in:

  • Small Business Studies
  • Special Educational Needs
  • Health & Safety Procedures
  • Child Protection Law

There are four Learning Outcomes (LO) to be completed in this Unit. Each Learning Outcome has a number of assessment criteria for the candidate to be assessed against. Candidates must pass all the Learning Outcomes to pass Unit 2.
