Creative Futures 2025: What the Proposed V Levels Could Mean for Creative Education and How You Can Help Shape the Future
This Friday, we’re hosting our new annual Creative Futures Conference, bringing together RSL centres from across the country who deliver our Music, Performing Arts and Creative Digital Media qualifications.
This year, we’re especially excited and honoured to welcome Kirsty Woollaston and Marianne Burrows, Senior Product Managers at Skills England as keynote speakers.
They’ll be sharing more about the Government’s recent White Paper on Post-16 Education and Skills, which includes the proposed introduction of V Levels. These are a new type of Level 3 vocational qualification that could eventually replace some existing qualifications.
Naturally, many of our centres and educators across the sector have questions. What might this mean for the qualifications you currently deliver? When would these changes happen? How will creative subjects be supported?
We want to reassure you that there is no need for concern at this stage. These are proposals only, and the consultation runs until January 2026. What matters now is that we all stay informed and involved.
A Unique Opportunity to Put Your Questions to Skills England
At the Creative Futures Conference, Skills England will take live questions from delegates about the proposed V Levels and wider reforms.
This is a rare opportunity to speak directly to the team helping implement policy. And it’s not limited to current RSL centres (though you have to be an approved centre to attend on the day). Whether you deliver qualifications with RSL or another awarding organisation, we want to hear from you.
- Have a question about how the proposed V Levels could impact your centre?
- Want clarity on what’s changing and what’s not?
- Interested in exploring RSL’s creative qualifications as a future-ready option?
